The Art of Anchoring

We all have emotional anchors. Some anchors are worthy and, unfortunately, some are intruders that block your progress. An emotional anchor is an internal response to an external event – it’s your response to something that happens. When you say, “I will never do that again,” you likely create an anchor that embeds deep in your mind. Anchors often happen early in life. We pass them down through generations by disguising them as protectors when they are actually roadblocks. In the MIB emPOWERment Coaching Cohort, we are diving deep to make corrections to our anchors.

However, moving forward requires identifying and uprooting unworthy anchors. Then, after careful consideration, reinserting your anchors in a worthy place. It may sound simple, but it takes some time to figure it out.

Worthy anchors need good soil. That means checking your thoughts and feelings to make sure every part of you aligns – your mind, heart, beliefs, and actions. When your anchors are in the right place, your alignment brings clarity, comfort and peace as you move forward. This journey affirms your identity and reminds you that you can accomplish your goals and finish what you start. We are pulling our anchors from the wrong soil and planting deep on good land. No more back and forth, starting and not finishing or just getting distracted and forgetting what you said you would do.

Experience how good it feels to have worthy anchors as you press forward.
