Rebooting Your Marketplace Ministry

Deciding to start a Marketplace Ministry is a bold move. You are doing Ministry in Business – both happening at the same time. It takes focus and commitment. To start, you have two big questions to answer – how to make your money and what will you do for your ministry? That’s why you have to refresh by rebooting your Marketplace Ministry when necessary.

A reboot means you are going back to your original goals and recommitting to get it done. It means you are reinventing your ministry and business, making corrections, changes, and doing whatever it takes to make it happen this time.

Since a Marketplace Ministry is all about doing your ministry in your business, if you reboot one, you will likely need to reboot the other. Start with the purpose for both. Your ministry is where you use your God-given gifts. It’s where you demonstrate what a Christian lifestyle looks like. It’s where you love people and help them make wise, biblical decisions. It’s where your life attracts people to Christ.

Doing your Ministry in Business is similar to doing your ministry in your ministry. As long as you have people and sincerely care about them.

The primary difference is the goal for financial profit that you have in business. But, when you create a purpose for the money you make in your business, even your money has a purpose (giving, helping, providing income for you and others).

Make sure you have a good understanding of the freedom you have to make money and enjoy what you earn. In Matthew 25:14-30 (Parable of the Talents) people are given different amounts of money. There is an expectation that each person will grow their money. The one who made the most was given more. The one who did nothing, lost what he had. (more about this passage is coming soon).

The bottom line is this – God expects us to multiply what He gives us – even our money!

Yes! It’s good to make money!

As you make plans to reboot your Marketplace Ministry, bring your passion and commitment to the table and go hard after what God is telling you to accomplish.

Write it down.

Take it one step at a time.

Reboot again if necessary.
