Manage Your Personal CEO And Finish What You Start

Every business needs a CEO – a chief executive officer who makes sure the goals of the organization are accomplished. Just life a business, YOU need a CEO too! Apply the same principles to your personal life so you too can Manage Your Personal CEO and Finish What You Start. This role is just as important for you as it is for a business. You are the chief executive officer of your life – the key player who makes sure you finish what you start.

When your personal CEO is in the right place you don’t just start – you finish! Why? because you see your goals as a business not just a personal desire that is ruled by your emotions. Instead, you create systems, routines, and habits that lead to your success. Without your personal CEO, emotional challenges will derail you and familiar habits will distract you. Embrace the role of a CEO for your personal life and make accomplishing your goals a business that goes beyond feelings.

You are already managing your life, even if your style is hands off allowing outside events to manipulate you. That’s still a form of management. You just let other people make decisions like an absentee CEO. How you manage your responsibilities as your personal CEO reflects in what’s happening in your life everyday.

Are you managing life or just responding to what happens to you?

Do you set goals and create routines to accomplish the goal or set the goal and walk away (or not set goals at all)?

Do you stay on task even when you get resistance or turn away when it gets hard?

The signs of how your CEO manages your life will show in almost every area of your life – your finances, relationships, and the people you hang with.

You decide when to wake up.

You decide to stay on task.

You decide to allow or ignore distractions.

You decide to join negative conversations or find a positive outlook.

You decide to be happy about a new day.

You decide to bring your “A” game.

You decide not to complain even when you have a reason.

You decide to follow the path that pleases God.

You decide to bring passion and diligence to the management of your life.

You decide to learn and grow.

You decide to live The Extra Life and optimize every heart beat.

Even if you feel that your life is spiraling out of control, you get to decide how to respond to what’s happening. You decide to pray, seek help, cry and get back up – you decide.

That’s the benefit of being your own CEO and that’s what it takes to finish what you start.

You can manage your life well, manage it poorly, or totally ignore your responsibility. You are the CEO of your thoughts and your actions. Even God, in His sovereignty, gives us free will – the freedom to choose.

Galatians 5:13 – For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

In a business, the CEO is the highest-ranking executive who makes major decisions and manages the operations and resources of a company. In your life, you are the highest ranking person (apart from God). You manage your resources and your daily operations. You decide how to respond to every opportunity that comes your way.

Yes, God is in control, but He gives you responsibility too.

Get it?

What can you decide today in your business or ministry that will help you finish what you start?

What choices do you have?

Here are a few ideas –

  1. You can go back to something that you started and decide that nothing will stop you.
  2. You can change your attitude.
  3. You can find new strength and ignore the crazy stuff.
  4. You can work harder to find the solutions that you need.
  5. You can pray. Then pray harder.
  6. You can find Bible verses that help you grow.
  7. You can ask for help.
  8. You can forgive yourself (and others).
  9. You can lock arms and share life with someone and grow together.
  10. You can study business / ministry and learn what you need to move forward.

The list never ends.

The point is to do something that leads you in the direction of your goals and the finish line. You need your personal CEO to get beyond your emotions, people, disappointments, and past experiences so you can finish what you start. You won’t have all of the answers. What you do have is the opportunity to move forward today – even if it’s a small step.

Manage your personal CEO and finish what you start so you will qualify for the next level. Whatever you do, don’t stop. CEO’s never stop growing and learning. They are change agents. Take your personal CEO and be patient with yourself. Go now and finish what you start.
