Praying for People Who Do You Wrong at Work

The last thing you think of when people do you wrong at work is praying for them, but that’s exactly what I am asking you to do. Praying for people who do you wrong at work is a sign of maturity that brings change that never happens on you own.

When I wrote praying for your coworkers, I didn’t realize that many times, those co-workers that you are praying for are the same ones who make your work-life miserable. So why pray for them?

When you take things into your own hands you get a few things going your way, but you don’t get the benefits that God has for you, plus doing things your way will wear you out!

Cast  your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you;
He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. – Psalm 55:22

When you place your problems (and problem people) in God’s hands, you get much more, His way. He does the work for you. God’s plan is always bigger than ours, always better than ours, and much more effective than ours.

He is able to connect the pieces in amazing ways landing you in an advanced position and handling the people who do you wrong.

Here’s how it works –

Your charge is to do a great job as work, no matter what everyone else is doing. You refrain from allowing the challenge to make you negative and critical. Why? Because you really are trusting God to handle your burdens.

As you do your job well, you pray for the other person in ways like this –

  • For them to find peace in their life
  • For God to deal with the issues of their heart
  • For God to be present in your office
  • For God to help you manage your situation with joy
  • For God to help them see themselves and how they affect others
  • For God to handle anything that is not His will in the office and turn things around
  • For God to place a circle of protection around you and others in the office.
  • For God to expose anything in the office that is not His desire for you and other employees
  • For God to intervene on your behalf

The goal is to discern what is actually happening so you can respond biblically. If the person is acting out of their own hurt and insecurities, God may want to show love and put you in a position to help.

But, if the person is mounting an attack on you, then pray for protection and ask God to defend you. Ask Him to fight your battle, continue to do great work, then stand strong.

I have been on a mission to turn my business into my ministry.  Now, there is not difference in my goals no matter what I am. In order to make that happen, I have to get along with many people, some who are friends and some who – well, they are like porcupines that I have to hug.

Those porcupines – they need prayer too.
