Welcome to Day 3 of the Showtime Devotional. We’re taking the stage  with a deeper look at James 1:2-4 and reflecting on the powerful invitation to pursue maturity in Christ.

How are you doing with redirecting your focus? It can take time, but you will get stronger as you endure and focus on the benefits of standing firm in your faith.

Day 3: Master the Audition – The Testing of Your Faith

Consider it all joy, my brothers and sisters, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect result so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.” (James 1:2-4)

Ouch! I wish there was an easy way to be tested, but unfortunately, there is not. God tests us in many areas to prepare us for the next step. The testing of your faith is like an audition for the next step that God has for you.  Even if you don’t pass the test, keep trying. You will begin to grow and learn from your mistakes, preparing you for future success.

Consider areas of your life that you find challenging. Identify a bold move that honors God that you can make today. Here are a few examples: Apologize, forgive, submit, be kind, give, let something go, take a step forward. Decide on your move and make it!

God will test you before He trusts you with valuable possessions. Take the challenge and prepare to pass the test.

When you consider the benefits of serving God, the wait is worth it!

Blessings.
