What if Life was a real person? What would he say to you? How would he direct you? I have written several letters from key attributes like life, hope, and peace. The letter below is my version on what Life would say as an encouraging friend, writing a letter to someone he loves. That’s you! Enjoy.

Dear Friend, My name is Life.

I am probably one of the greatest gifts that you will ever receive. I have so much planned for you. I can give you opportunities, expectations, possibilities and purpose, all fulfilled. Through me, you can accomplish your wildest dreams. Your overflow can be like the branches of an apple tree, bending over with sweet fruit for all to enjoy. I can blow your mind.

It’s unfortunate that so many people fail to experience the fullness of what I have to offer, but I want your story to be different. I want you to maximize your experience with me and avoid unnecessary pitfalls that can distract and hinder. If you were 90 years of age and nearing your last days, I would like for you to look back and say to yourself, “Life has been good to me.”

To really feel good about me requires that you look beyond material gain, status or prestige. Success in me lies in your ability to feast on the fruit of the Spirit, which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). It means using your fruit to optimize your God-given purpose, planting seeds and sharing your fruit everywhere you go. I will create the opportunity for you to be successful and also be a positive influence to others. Then, your rich legacy will continue to reproduce, even in your absence. Even when you are gone, your life will continue to give life to others. It may be tough sometimes, but when you awake in the morning and the sun still shines, be thankful that I am with you.

“When you feel tired and want to give up, don’t confuse the hurts and disappointments of your current season with the potential that your lifetime holds.”

I was created by God to be with you. Cherish me. Take care of yourself and enjoy our time together.

Love, Your Friend, Life
